Choosing the Right Floor Plan for Me

Choosing the Right Floor Plan for Me

August 26th, 2017

Once you’ve decided that moving into an independent senior living facility is the right thing for you, the next big choice you’ve got to make is what kind of floor plan is right for you. It’s a tough choice to make, but here are a few questions to think about to make it easier.

1) How much space do you need?
I know it’s tough to downsize and get rid of some of your cherished possessions, but moving into a seniors home means that you’re going to find somewhere smaller. Do you really need one bedroom or two? Or would you be more comfortable in a studio suite? All of this depends on your lifestyle and what things you need to bring with you.

2) An ensuite bathroom or not?

For some people, this isn’t actually a choice. They need the bathroom as close as possible and having more doors in the way can make for some dicey moments. But others like having the privacy of a bathroom that’s tucked away from their guests.

3) How much time do you spend at home?

This is a question that many people don’t immediately think about when they think of floor plans, but it is an important question to ask. Are you a homebody who spends a lot of time inside? Or are you ready to head out into Kamloops and your home is really just a place to sleep? If you’re the former, then you may want a more elaborate floor plan with more space to move in. If you’re the latter, smaller may be the best way to go.

No matter what floor plan you choose, The Hamlets at Westsyde offers comfortable and functional suites with the best safety features and designs that take your specific needs into consideration. No matter which one you choose, we make senior living an exceptional way to spend your retirement days.
