Fall Activities for Seniors in Kamloops

Fall Activities for Seniors in Kamloops

October 31st, 2021

Kamloops is beautiful in the fall, and there is no shortage of things to do outside. It is a good idea to go outside while you can before the weather gets really cold. One of the great advantages of being outside is you don’t have to wear a mask, and social distancing is easy.

Here are some of our ideas.

Fishing?

Do you like to go fishing? Kamloops is surrounded by lakes, and fall is great season for fishing. Edith Lake, Tunkwa Lake, and Roche Lake as just a few of many more. Be sure to have your fishing licence and a life vest if you’re going in a boat.

Watching Nature

If you don’t want to catch any fish, you can observe the miraculous spawning behaviour in the Adams River, where sockeye salmon come to spawn during the whole month of October. Take some photographs or sit and draw a sketch. The level of sockeye is expected to be uncommonly high this year.

Halloween

Don’t forget it’s Halloween at the end of the month. There were will plenty of pumpkin patches to explore, and the Kamloops Film Society will be showing some horror flicks that are highly appropriate for the spooky season.

There is also Boo at the Zoo at BC Wildlife Park, and the Field of Screams Corn Maze at Sunset Valley Farm.

Our fall is forecast to be mild, so enjoy your time outside as much as possible during October. Take a walk. Take some photos. Get some fresh air. It’s good for your mind, body, and soul, for all ages.
