One way to keep the seniors in your life more active is by helping them participate in excursions around town. There are a variety of Fall activities in Kamloops that seniors can enjoy, many getting them out in the community and into the outdoors. Taking your senior family member from their senior assisted living facility with you, along with your children, to any of these activities happening around Kamloops, and you will be sure to have a fun afternoon.


Farmer’s Markets – Fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and preserves are available at a wide variety of farmers markets in the Kamloops area. The Downtown Kamloops Farmer’s Market runs on Saturdays from mid-April to the end of October on St. Paul St., between Second Ave and Third Ave.


Bird Watching – The Kamloops area hosts a wide variety of birds, and there are many locations that provide scenic bird watching opportunities. Traquille Marsh, Beaver Flats and Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park are just a few of the areas where bird watching is popular. C

Historic Tours – The history of Kamloops can be experienced by a walking tour starting at the Kamloops Museum and Archives. A free mp3 guide is available for a self-directed walking tour also.


Live Sports – MacArthur Island Park is located on the north bank of the Thompson River and is home to many sports and recreation facilities. Soccer, football, baseball and cricket are just a few sports that are played in the area in addition to the paved walking trail around the perimeter of the park. The entire family can enjoy watching live sports being played in any area of the park.

Kamloops is lucky to have world-class theatre productions created by theWestern Canada Theatre, taking place in both the Sagebrush Theatre and the Pavilion Theatre. Many productions have matinee performances, perfect for the entire family to attend.
